ATTENTION OHIO NURSING STUDENTS' ATTENDING NSNA ANNUAL CONVENTION

Please come and visit the Ohio Nursing Students' Association Board of Directors at the convention.  We will be having caucuses throughout the week and will be discussing issues related to the convention.  One day we will be having a pizza party for all Ohio students' and faculty attending.  This will most likely occur on Thursday or Friday when we have the NSNA BOD candidates come speak to us.  The exact location and time can be found on one of several informational bulletin boards that will be present at the convention center.  If you see a ONSA BOD, they will be wearing ribbons, ask them for a sticker to show you are from Ohio. This will help distinguish us from the other 3,000 students.

Support the ONSA by attending the House of Delegates and participating in the debates of proposed resolutions and bylaw amendments.  The ONSA has a resolution being proposed the House of Delegates.  Originally presented to the ONSA HOD by Case Western Reserve University and adopted by the ONSA in October during our annual convention. The resolution abstract is as follows:

IN SUPPORT OF INCREASING AWARENESS AMONG NURSING STUDENTS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF THE JOINT COMMISSION’S REQUIREMENT FOR A STANDARDIZED PATIENT CARE HANDOFF

SUBMITTED BY: Ohio Nursing Students’ Association
Author: Julia Rose

This resolution increases awareness about the Joint Commission’s requirement of a standardized patient care handoff in healthcare facilities. It advocates for ongoing research in this area and encourages NSNA constituents to support the implementation and consistent use of a standardized patient care handoff in health care facilities.

Come and check out our fundraising booth at the convention where we will be having a 50/50.  All you have to do is guess how many syringes are in our sharps container!!  We will also be selling t-shirts.  We will also be selling our new sweat pants that just came in.  Down the leg it says "We bust ours to wipe yours!" We are carrying sizes from small to xxl.

Most importantly, come and support the ONSA's Communication Director, Jill Beasley, as she runs for the NSNA office of Vice-President.  She will be glad to answer all of your questions and will be at campaign headquarters throughout the week. Good Luck Jill!!!
