According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics,
there are nearly 115,000 practicing registered nurses in
the state of Ohio. The sheer numbers give RNs the power
and opportunity to make a difference in the legislative
arena; either on a local, state, or national level. The
Ohio General Assembly and other state agencies make decisions
that affect a nurse's practice. Do you know what they are
deciding for you?
Nurses' Day at the Statehouse
provides an opportunity to get a behind the scenes look
at the legislative process; along with information on how
you can make a difference by taking action, how to communicate
with those in power, success stories of Nurses who decided
to be involved in the legislative process, and an opportunity
to observe committees discussing issues important
to you as a future nurse!
On February 24, 2010, join various
nursing groups from across the state to acquire the tools
and resources needed to make your voice heard!
