Council of School Leaders Director
A junior at the University of Akron, Ryan is currently in his fifth year at the university level. He currently serves as the President for the Class of 2010. Recently elected to the new position of the Council of School Leaders Director, Ryan is psyched to get involved with the leadership teams of the chapter levels of the ONSA across the state! Active in more than just his college, Ryan has learned the importance of leadership and the skills necessary for being as effective as possible in a position of leadership. He faithfully serves at Maranatha Bible Church with the Senior High Ministry as a small group leader for the Junior Class. Every minute spent with the guys in his group show him the importance of proper guidance and reveal the tools necessary for not only creating leaders, but more importantly, for nurturing and guiding them to be as effective and influential as possible. As Class President, Ryan desires to inspire enthusiasm about the nursing profession in his colleagues. Driven to encourage involvement in community nursing events such as health screenings and seminars in area hospitals, Ryan’s goals for the Class of 2010, as shared by his fellow officers, is to leave a legacy of being a class devoted to a healthier university and a healthier community. Through the position of the Council of School Leaders Director, Ryan hopes to be able to implement different leadership training opportunities for Chapter leadership teams across the state; opportunities to build their membership involvement, to inspire health awareness campus wide, and to raise the membership involvement in such events as the Annual Leadership conference and the ONSA annual conference. His goal for the position is to set the foundation for leadership training that grows and develops individualized skills and gifts, allowing for unimaginable growth of character and integrity of those called to lead. The Lord has given Ryan the desire and ability to lead and he can’t wait to share the aspiration to motivate and lead others with anyone who desires the same. James 1:4 “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
