Nominations and Elections Chair

Welcome to the Ohio Nursing Student Associations' website. My name is Kathryn Helfrich and I am currently in my second year of nursing school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. I am originally from the Chautauqua region of western New York. My journey to nursing, and to Case Western Reserve University, has been an enjoyable experience. After graduating from high school I decided to live abroad, and found myself in Bad Voeslau, Austria. I returned to attend Binghamton University, but later found myself drawn to Case Western Reserve and the numerous opportunities in health care that Cleveland possessed. Not only has this given me the truly unique experience of living and working in Cleveland, but also it led to me to the Ohio Nursing Student Association. This an organization I am thrilled to further my involvement in.
        This past academic year I was the president of my nursing class in Case's Undergraduate Student Nurses' Association chapter. Currently I serve as the executive treasurer at my university level and I am the Nominations and Elections Director for the Ohio Nursing Student Association. In addition to my involvement in the Ohio Nursing Student Association and Case Western's Undergraduate Student Nurses' Association I am also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, Mortar Board National Honor Society and the Emerging Leaders Program. I am also pursuing minors in psychology and religion while attending Case.
        I am very enthusiastic about my position on the Ohio Nursing Student Association's board and encourage you to further your involvement in our association as well. The Association offers a wide variety of opportunities and as the Nominations and Elections Director I am more than willing to share any information about the board positions.
